Tennessee Riverline & Hiwassee Blueway Partner Paddle

  • 6615 Blythe Ferry Lane Birchwood, TN, 37308 United States (map)

Join the Hiwassee Blueway, Tennessee Riverline and Meigs/Decatur Rivertown for a Partner Paddle at the Cherokee Removal Memorial on May 13 from 10 am to 12 pm. This free paddle event is open to the community and intended for first time paddlers to experience kayaking at the confluence of the Hiwassee and Tennessee Rivers.

Experienced guides will be on hand to provide instruction and on-water support. Kayak equipment will be provided free of charge. (Limited equipment available). Participants must RSVP in advance for paddling equipment and sign a liability release waiver in order to participate.

This is a great opportunity to learn about the Tennessee Riverline and the Hiwassee Blueway, and their efforts to create more recreational opportunities in our region. There will be short presentations provided by each organization prior to the paddle.

The Cherokee Removal Memorial will be open for folks to explore and a food truck will be on site serving lunch for purchase. This event is open to all ages, but paddling is best suited for ages 13+ with a participating adult.
