Mark your calendar! The 34th Ijams River Rescue will be held April 15, 2023 (severe weather rain date is April 22)! It's a great way to safely get out, get active, and clean up the Tennessee River and its creeks and streams to make the Spring City an even better place to live, work, and play!
This event brings together 500-800 volunteers to remove between 10-40 tons of trash from the Tennessee River’s shorelines and its tributary creeks.
In 2022, about 557 volunteers safely removed 21+ tons of garbage from 44 sites! Let's blow that "out of the water" in 2023!
Outdoor cleanups are a great way to give back, get active and stay safe because you can be outside and physically distance from everyone around you. Everyone who volunteers will receive a t-shirt featuring a wonderful design by Stephen Lyn Bales.
This work would not be possible without you, or the generous organizations that sponsor this event. Thank you so much for caring about East Tennessee's waterways!
The Roane County location for this event is at Caney Creek Recreation Area and Tom Fuller Park.
